New to Fondren

What to Expect

Visiting a new church can be intimidating: Below are some answers to some of the more frequently asked questions.

What do I wear?
There is no set dress code at Fondren. You will notice a wide array of attire, from "informal casual" to "Sunday best."
Where do I park?
There is designated parking for physically impaired and marked parking spots. Note: all parking is free.
When are the services?
There are two worship services on Wednesday, one at 12:00 noon and a second service at 7:30 pm
On Saturday, there are also two services, one at 9:00 am and another at 11:15 am. You are also welcome to attend any of our Bible Study classes begining at 10:15 am

Are the services the same?
No. The 9:00 am service is a traditional family friendly service and the 11:15am is a more blended service with both traditional and modern elements.
Am I expected to give an offering?
No. You are not expected to give an offering, it is strictly a choice. You are free to allow the collection bags to pass.
Where do my children go?
On the 4th Saturday of each month, children ages 0-12 have their own worship service at 11:15 am. However, if they are not comfortable attending, they are free to sit with their family in the main service. On the other Saturdays they are welcome to sit with their family during either one of the morning services.

How to Become a Member

All are welcomed to participate in our worship services and fellowship activities. Some many choose to take a further step of commitment and personal involvement in the ministries of our church by becoming an active member. If you are looking for a church home, or perhaps you are new to our community, we would love to welcome you into the membership.

There are three ways to become a member of the Fondren Seventh-day Adventist Church community.....

By Water Baptism

The Fondren Seventh-day Adventist Church believes and practices baptism by immersion. For those who are beginning their walk with Jesus for the first time, or making a renewed commitment, baptism is a symbol of that new life in Christ and entrance into His church (Acts 2:38-47).  We practice full immersion baptism because by being fully buried beneath the water we symbolize that through baptism we are truly born again in Jesus. If you haven’t been to one of our baptism services, it is a time of high rejoicing and celebration! You may begin that process by clicking here to fill out a church membership application and set up an appointment with one of our pastors.

By Letter of Transfer

If you hold membership in the Adventist Church in another location and want to establish your membership at the Fondren Seventh-day Adventist church, you may do so by transferring your membership. You may begin that process by clicking here to fill out an application for transfer of membership and begin the transfer process from you previous church.

By Profession of Faith

If you have already been baptized by immersion in another Christian denomination you may become a member of the Fondren Seventh-day Adventist church by a simple declaration of your personal faith in Jesus Christ, and your desire to become an active member of the Fondren Seventh-day Adventist Church. You may begin that process by clicking here to fill out a church membership application and setting up an appointment with one of our pastors.
